Michele Holovach, Director, has been an educator for over 35 years and has been the Director of Valley Even Start since its inception in 2000. She began her career teaching 5th and 6th graders in Orange, resigning after 9 years to raise her family. Michele returned to teaching part time at Valley Regional Adult Education in Shelton. She began by teaching ESL classes and then worked to create the ABE/GED Learning Lab. She also taught the ABE/GED Learning Lab and parenting classes at the Tinney Community Center in Ansonia. Michele is a nationally certified Parents As Teachers Parent Educator along with facilitator training in Family Read and Raising Readers and has provided Ansonia, Derby, Seymour and Shelton with parenting workshops through TEAM Early Childhood and the Valley Family Resource Center. She serves on many councils and committees including the Valley Council of Health and Human Services; the School Readiness Councils of Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, and Shelton; TEAM, Inc. Policy Council; and the Graustein Discovery Committees for Ansonia, Derby, Shelton, and Regional.
Barbara Bradley, Parent Educator holds a Bachelor's degree is Sociology from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. For twenty years, Barbara ran a successful business as well as raising her three children. In 2003, Barbara was looking for new opportunities and was fortunate enough to become the Parent Educator for the Valley Even Start program. She had to take a short hiatus due to budget cuts in the program and during that time she gained additional experience with children of special needs especially autism. In 2009, Valley Even Start is so fortunate to have her return to the program. Barbara is a nationally certified Parent Educator through Parents as Teachers along with facilitator training in Family Read.
